Eid Beauty Prep: A Realistic 7-Day Glow Plan for Kuwait (That Actually Works)

May 18, 2026The Face Shop Kuwait

Eid al-Adha falls on May 26 this year, which gives you exactly one week from when you're reading this. If you're like most of us in Kuwait, you've probably done this dance before — the week leading up to Eid you remember you wanted to look glowing, and then you panic-buy four sheet masks the night before and hope for the best.

I'm going to save you that panic. Below is a day-by-day plan I've put together using products we actually stock at The Face Shop Kuwait — not the wishlist of an unlimited-budget routine. This is what works for real skin, in real Kuwait heat, with one week to play with.

A small confession before we start: I cheat on Day 4. You can too. I'll tell you when.

Why Eid prep in Kuwait is harder than people admit

Most beauty routines you find online are written for people who live in Seoul or Paris. They don't account for the fact that on May 23, the temperature outside is going to be 41°C, and the moment you step out of your air-conditioned car your makeup will start questioning its life choices.

Add to that: most of us have been a little inconsistent with skincare during Ramadan (no judgement, the fasting + iftar schedule is brutal on routines), our skin is probably a bit tired, and we want to look fresh for the family gatherings on Eid day and the photos that everyone insists on taking.

The good news: skin responds quickly to a focused 7-day push. The bad news: there's no skipping steps. The plan below has been built around what your skin actually needs, not what looks good on Instagram.

The 7-Day Plan

Day 7 (Sunday, May 19) — Reset Day

Today is the most important day, and ironically the one most people skip.

Morning: Take off any makeup you have on. Properly. Use the Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil — massage it onto dry skin for a full minute. This is not a quick scrub. The point is to dissolve everything from the past few days that your basic face wash didn't fully get rid of.

Follow with the foam cleanser from the same range. Then nothing else. Just leave your skin alone.

Evening: Same double cleanse. Then a sheet mask. The Real Nature Bamboo or Real Nature Aloe are both fine — pick whichever is sitting in your stash. The mask is less about active ingredients today and more about getting your skin used to consistent moisture again.

That's it. No serums, no extras. Today is about clearing the deck.

Day 6 (Monday, May 20) — Hydrate Hard

By Day 6, the skin is starting to feel the consistency. You want to push hydration aggressively now because dehydrated skin is the #1 reason makeup looks cakey on Eid day.

Morning: Cleanse with Rice Water Bright foam, then a hydrating toner — Belif Moisturizing Bomb Toner is the one I always reach for in summer. Pat it in with your hands, don't rub it with cotton. Two layers, not one. Then sunscreen. Yes, even if you're staying inside today.

Evening: Cleanse. Hydrating toner again. Then Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel as a leave-on. This is a Kuwait-specific recommendation — the aloe gel works beautifully overnight in air-conditioned rooms that quietly dehydrate your skin while you sleep.

Day 5 (Tuesday, May 21) — Treatment Day

Today is the day to use anything actually active in your routine. Vitamin C, retinol, exfoliating acids — whatever you've been meaning to start. (If you've never used any of these before, don't introduce them now. Just stick with the basic routine and add a serum instead.)

Morning: Standard cleanse-tone-moisturize-SPF. Don't experiment in the morning.

Evening: Cleanse, tone, then Yehwadam Plum Flower Revitalizing Serum or whatever brightening serum you have. Let it sink in for 5 minutes before your moisturizer. The Yehwadam line is genuinely effective on uneven tone if you give it consistency — and consistency is what this week is about.

Day 4 (Wednesday, May 22) — The Cheat Day

This is the day I told you about. Skip your evening routine. Yes, completely.

Cleanse only. Go to bed.

Here's why: skin doesn't need to be doing something every single night. Constant intervention can actually irritate it, especially when you're packing in unfamiliar steps. One night off lets everything settle. Your skin will thank you on Day 3.

Also, you've been good for three days. You deserve it.

Day 3 (Thursday, May 23) — Exfoliate Smartly

Three days before Eid is the right window to gently exfoliate. Not before, because if anything reacts you don't have time to recover. Not after, because freshly exfoliated skin doesn't take makeup as smoothly.

Morning: Normal routine, plus a slightly fuller sunscreen application. Outside is going to be intense today.

Evening: Cleanse, then use The Solution Double-Up Pore Care Mask or any clay/peeling mask you trust. Ten minutes maximum. Rinse off and apply your hydrating toner immediately — three layers tonight, since exfoliation dehydrates. Then a thicker moisturizer like Yehwadam Plum Flower Revitalizing Emulsion.

Drink water before bed. I know that sounds basic. Do it anyway.

Day 2 (Friday, May 24) — Eid Eve Prep

This is the day to do anything you've been putting off — eyebrows, lip care, a hand mask, basically all the small things.

Morning + evening: Standard hydrating routine. No experiments today. If your lips are dry, the Dr.Belmeur Advanced Cica Touch Lip Balm overnight makes a real difference.

An extra step worth doing tonight: A sleep mask. Belif Aqua Bomb Frozen Cream is the closest thing we stock to a true overnight hydrating mask, and the cooling formula feels amazing in this heat. Layer it on top of your normal routine before sleeping.

Day 1 (Saturday, May 25) — Eid Eve

The night before Eid is not the time to try anything new. I cannot stress this enough.

Morning + evening: Exactly what your skin has gotten used to over the past week. Cleanse, tone, hydrate, sunscreen in the morning. Cleanse, tone, treat, moisturize at night. Don't add a new mask, don't try a new serum your cousin sent you, don't do any DIY treatments.

Eat dinner early if you can, drink water through the evening, and sleep. Eid day is going to be long.

Eid Day (May 26) — The Morning Routine

This is what the whole week was building toward.

Step 1 — Gentle cleanse. Don't strip the skin. Just a foam cleanser.

Step 2 — Hydrating toner. Two or three layers. The reason your skin looks plump and dewy in photos is hydration underneath makeup, not on top of it.

Step 3 — Lightweight serum. If you have a vitamin C, this is the morning for it. Even sun-protection cushion makeup goes on smoother over a thin serum layer than over thick moisturizer.

Step 4 — Moisturizer. Thin layer. The Belif gel-cream is good for this — it doesn't sit heavy under makeup.

Step 5 — Sunscreen. Dr.Belmeur Uv Derma Mineral Sun Stick SPF50+ is a quick option if you're rushed. Don't skip this even if you're indoors most of the day — the sun coming through windows is not nothing.

Step 6 — Cushion or makeup base. Fmgt Gold Collagen Ampoule Mesh Cushion is the one I'd reach for on Eid because it has a natural glow without looking shiny in 40°C heat.

You'll have built up a week of hydration, brightening, and barrier support. Eid day makeup will sit better, last longer, and photograph better than if you'd done nothing all week.

Common mistakes to skip

Mistake 1: Trying a new product the day before. If you've gotten this far, you know — I will keep saying it. The week before Eid is not a science experiment.

Mistake 2: Over-cleansing. Twice a day is enough. Three times a day strips your skin's barrier and makes it produce more oil, not less.

Mistake 3: Skipping sunscreen at home. Your skin remembers UV exposure. The week before Eid is the worst possible time to develop new pigmentation.

Mistake 4: Skipping the cheat day. Don't be a hero. Let your skin breathe.

Mistake 5: Buying everything new. Use what you already own first. The plan above works with whatever brand you have on the shelf, but the products linked are the ones I actually trust to perform in Kuwait's specific climate.

Quick FAQ

Can I do this in less than 7 days? Yes, but 5 days is the minimum. Anything less and you're just doing your normal routine with extra steps.

Will this work for sensitive skin? Yes, but skip the exfoliation day (Day 3) and replace with another hydration mask. Don't introduce any acids or retinols in this window.

Do I need all these products? No. The plan is the framework. Use what you have. If you're starting from zero, the priority order is: cleanser → hydrating toner → moisturizer → sunscreen → everything else.

What about Arabic-speaking skin specialists? If anything reacts, stop the new product immediately and message us on WhatsApp. We'll guide you to something gentler.

Will the products be in stock? Yes — all linked products are currently available with free delivery in Kuwait on orders over KWD 10. Cash on delivery available. If a product shows out of stock, message us and we'll suggest an equivalent.

One last thing

Eid is about being with people, not about looking perfect for photos. The routine above will give your skin its best week, but the truth is most family won't notice the specific products you used. What they'll notice is whether you look rested, hydrated, and happy.

So sleep. Drink water. Don't skip Day 4. And if you only do one thing this week — wear sunscreen, every day, indoors and out.

Eid Mubarak in advance. May yours be glowing.
